Due
to his activities, successfully done for the people
he was again selected for the Assembly election and
also elected as an MLA for the second term.
He kept his fighting continue against the various
problems of common people like, water, unemployment,
poverty and inflation due to which people are suffering.
He became President of Youth Congress during this
period. He was working till late night and people
could reach him, phone him anytime and in a very short
period of time he was responding to peoples grievances
and
He managed many Padyatras as per the instructions
of the the then AICC president, Shree Rajeev Gandhi.
He went to almost each and every village of the state.
The otive behind these Padyatras was to spread the
message of Mahatma Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajendraprasad,
Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. They all did padyatras for
the cause of cure of people problem and make them
aware of their rights. The motive behind these Padyatras
was to see that the advantage of “Five Year
Plans” of government reaches to people.
For example one of the various schemes of government
was to distribute equipments like spade and other
things used for agriculture work to people free of
charge. The head of Villages and Tehsils were falsely
claiming money on behalf of innocent and poor villagers
and the money was totally going to wrong persona and
no equipments were distributed to the needy ones.
Surendra Rajput found this out under youth congress.
He was getting thousands of grievances from people
and he and his staff were making classifications of
these grievances and were not only sending them to
government but see that it is sorted out and people
get their rights.
He also started a unique IDEA BANK, where the youth
of Gujarat was sending many ideas for various problems
like digging of roads for gutter line, water line
and then not properly handling it etc. Road making
at various places. Mr. Rajput had done rigorous classifications
of all these ideas received and sent 58 points
to the then government and the government accepted
all the points as it is and implemented all those
points on its own name!!
